Easy Breezy: Cabela’s EZE Portable Ground Blind XL Makes Turkey Hunting a Breeze

Fully enclosed pop-up blinds are a staple amongst turkey hunters. Often, however, blinds can be somewhat cumbersome to carry deep into turkey country, and if a tom hangs up on the other side of the woods, large blinds are not particularly easy to relocate, at least stealthily. This is where Cabela’s EZE Portable Ground Blind XL stands out from a sea of blind options, offering concealment on par with a fully enclosed blind but much easier to pack into one’s turkey vest. 

The blind consists of three connected hubs and is made of a quiet yet durable polyester fabric in Cabela's Strata camo pattern. While Cabela's advertises the blind to offer 180 degrees of concealment, the three-hub design allows users to fully enclose themselves in a triangle, if needed. 

Stake it in the ground with the seven stakes included for ultra-stability — although, we found the blind to be plenty sturdy un-staked. And when we couldn’t get a gobbler to fire up, we were able to quietly and quickly fold up the blind, pack it in the vest and move to a new location. 

Other features include brush straps along all three sides for increased concealment, three netted pockets (for gear or snacks) and a built-in storage pocket for the ground stakes. When folded up, the blind is about 30 inches long and about the width of a football. When popped up, the blind sits 38 inches tall with three articulatable 4-foot walls, making it perfect for a sturdy kneeling shot. At under 5 pounds, we hardly noticed the addition to the turkey vest.
