New Jersey closed fall seasons in 2025. Still, there is plenty of opportunity for the turkey hunter. Fall hunter numbers have declined in some areas but remain strong or stable in others. Get out there and experience it if your state offers a fall season or you can travel. BAG LIMIT: One wild turkey per license. Hunters may possess one General License (unlimited over the counter), and up to two Type 3 (county specific) licenses (drawing only, or available as leftover if not sold out in the drawing).

ESTIMATE FOR THE NUMBER OF FALL TURKEY HUNTERS: Over the past five years there has been a 50% increase in the amount of fall wild turkey licenses sold. Harvest has also increased around 33%. In 2024, there were 3,253 licenses sold with a harvest of 1,660 wild turkeys.
