NWTF Congratulates Doug Burgum on Confirmation as Secretary of the Interior

EDGEFIELD, SC – The National Wild Turkey Federation congratulates Department of Interior Sec. Doug Burgum, former Governor of North Dakota, on his bipartisan confirmation by the U.S. Senate. In this role, he will oversee the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs and Bureau of Land Management.

As a lifelong advocate for hunting and conservation, Sec. Burgum has consistently demonstrated his commitment to balancing a wide array of issues critical to the health of our nation’s lands, waters, wildlife and communities. From wildlife management and fishery sustainability to the stewardship of public lands in North Dakota, he has proven he is a true champion for conservation, hunting and other outdoor recreation.

In 2023, Sec. Burgum signed a resolution recognizing the NWTF’s 50th anniversary and work dedicated to conservation and preserving the hunting in the state.

His deep passion for conservation and hunting and his understanding of the issues that matter most to sportsmen and women will ensure that these interests remain at the forefront of the department's agenda.
