New Executive Order to “Make America Beautiful Again” Promotes Conservation and Expanding Access to Public Lands

Signed on July 3, the MABA Executive Order established the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) Commission and directed all federal land management agencies to prioritize projects that promote responsible land stewardship, improve wildlife habitat and reduce wildfire risk.

The executive order also includes a strong commitment to increasing access for hunters, anglers and other outdoor users, reaffirming the critical role that sportsmen and women play in conservation.

A key feature of the MABA Executive Order is its call to recover wildlife populations through collaboration rather than regulation. This shift from bureaucracy to public-private partnerships will enable organizations like the NWTF to amplify its existing programs like the Forests and Flocks Intiative and leverage decades of conservation success in implementing new federal projects.

The NWTF looks forward to working with the U.S. Department of the Interior, USDA Forest Service, state agencies and other partners to help implement the executive order’s priorities in forests, fields and communities across the country.
