This special day paid tribute to the families of active-duty personnel, veterans and those currently serving abroad.
The event was a fusion of camaraderie, delicious food and the joy of fishing, providing a well-deserved break and a sincere expression of gratitude for their service. Attendees enjoyed BBQ from Curtis Wicker and a selection of sides generously contributed by Ronnie’s Buffet of Newberry.
Amidst the tranquil waters, participants enjoyed a full day of fishing, enveloped by the unwavering appreciation of their community. It served as a humble gesture, reflecting deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by military families and their unwavering commitment to the nation.
Board members Jennifer Hodge McLain and Gary Peters joined joined the event as volunteers, embodying the spirit of community and solidarity. Their presence added warmth and support to the event.
The NWTF South Carolina Wheelin' Sportsmen is thankful for the other event sponsors and partners — Biodone USA of Prosperity, the City of Newberry and the USDA Forest Service — for their invaluable support in making this event possible.
