The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports and the National Wild Turkey Federation launched a regional Hunt for Good campaign aimed at increasing approval of legal, regulated hunting among non-hunters in 2023. In partnerships, the campaign was implemented four times between 2023 and 2025: a limited national run; a Northeast regional effort targeting Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC; and twice in Missouri. These efforts generated 45,652,842 unique impressions, reaching the middle 80% of the public that does not hunt but may be persuaded to support it.
New NWTF chapters throughout the Northeast are now using Hunt for Good in their outreach events to bring awareness about hunting to new participants and attendees. This can look like sharing the materials in social media ads with local partners, handing out postcards and stickers at a local community event, or including the messaging in outreach efforts with an offer to join upcoming events and programming. The campaign is strengthened through the continued exposure to the material to build familiarity.
For example, the South Mountain Chapter of the NWTF, based in Maryland, recently hosted its first Family Field Day event to promote outdoor education, conservation awareness and family engagement in hunting.

The event was sponsored by L.L. Bean, whose generous support made it possible to offer this educational opportunity to the local community. Highlighting the campaign messages of Hunt for the Connection, the event also featured BB gun and shotgun shooting stations, educational exhibits and crafts designed to inspire outdoor involvement and family connection. The Hunt for Good campaign was promoted at the event to help educate attendees who were new to the hunting community.

Other states and chapters across the Northeast have begun to follow the momentum of the regional campaign in their own individual efforts as well. Ideas for video testimonial campaigns tied to the messages of Hunt for Good are in the works in one state, while new events and projects with an emphasis around promoting awareness continue to be underway for the coming year.
